  • lol...yeah the translation is quite terrible...

@omero...Tabarez said he WILL consider Luis for the Uruguayan Olympic Football Team...he made it clear that it was a ill-intended rumour...He said that leaving Luis out of the team is unthinkable and nonsense.

Óscar Washington Tabárez spoke publicly for the first time about the episode between  Luis Suárez and Patrice Evra. In an interview with the program "En Perspectiva", Tabárez analysed the episode and its possible consequences for the national team.

The "Maestro" said he would speak to Suárez about it, but he will not make public declarations.

"Is not about not commiting, but I speak for the nacional team and everything I do about Suarez has to do with two main areas: first the person that he is where I have no doubt about his values and then as a member of the team and how this might influence on his future.

Tabárez confirmed that he sent him messages but that he has still to talk to Luis in person. That he has not enough details yet to publicly speak about things that are so personal.

About the chance of Suarez being forced to give Evra his hand, he said that he didn’t believe in those type of organizations where such orders are given for everyone to follow. And that he has people he would never give the hand to and he doesn’t consider himself a bad person for it.

Tabárez is worried that what happened might affect the image of the player while playing for the national tema. He said that he will be watched more closely in his protests. That his attitude has improved a lot over the last games, but people don’t speak about it because is a positive thing.

About Suarez being discarded from playing on the Olimpics because they are being held in England, he said it was crazy. "It would be like saying Suarez is doomed for what he did. It never even crossed my mind."

  • He's saying (in very resumed terms) That there are people who he wouldn't shake hands after some things they've done to him. (alluding to situations similar to the Evra-Suárez but not "directly")

About the Olympics: He said (resuned again) "What you're saying (that Suárez is discarded for the event) is an absolute nonsense"
