Fulham Venting

I was left fuming last night after the final whistle.  And to be honest, I'm still pretty upset.  Losing at Fulham is not the end of the world.  But I really wanted those 3 points.

I probably won't shed any new light on the outcome, so if you've already read other blogs about last night's game you can probably skip mine.  I'm just really mad and need a way to vent.  So I'm blogging.

Henderson's shot should have gone in.  Stewart Downing's should have as well.  We're just adding to our league-leading total of hitting the woodwork.  And I'm getting pretty tired of other team's goalkeepers making a "save of the season" against us.

Let's also consider that Luis Suarez goal was unjustly disallowed.  He was level with the back defender.  That goal should have counted.  Charlie Adam was brought down right on the edge of the penalty box.  That decision could have easily gone our way.

Oh yeah, and Jay Spearing was given a straight red for a challenge that probably only deserved a yellow.  He won the ball, and I don't think he was trying to hurt anyone.

Our normally surehanded custodian allowed a somewhat routine save to be punched in by an opportune Clint Dempsey.  I love Pepe Reina.  He's a human being.  And he has saved us countless times ... FAR more than any mistakes he may have committed during his tenure with our club.

But alas, poor luck and some poor officiating were against us last night.

OK.  I've vented.  Now let's move on.  We should put together a nice run over the coming weeks.  Hopefully our points will tally up and we'll move in the right direction.  Our team is talented, unified, and driven.  We will persevere.

  • Your venting was far more dignified than mine.Luckily the wife and baby were asleep, cause I cussed big unmentionable swear words, mostly at the ref,but also at Lady Luck who deserted us once again. But I'm still happy with the performance after the Lucas-loss and was proud of Spearing getting in the game. We'll are still not far of CL-place, so keep the faith. WE ARE LIVERPOOL!!!
