Okay, i know all this transfer talk is getting boring and that despite all these blogs and stuff, it's not going to sway King Kennys or Damien Comoli's desicion but regardless it does me some good to let out some of this bottled frustration of transfer talk.
Immediately the Lucas Leiva injury is heartbreaking and supposedly Liverpool are already looking at a replacement. In my opinion, no one does his job as well as him, and all of a sudden i see all this speculation about spending 10million on Leroy Fer in the January transfer window. In my opinion it's a bad idea, it's not that he's a bad player because he's not, in my opinion he's a good player but why not let Henderson play in the middle of the park? Which is his preferred position. Recently people are getting on Jordan Hendersons back for being arguably ineffective on the right wing, i cannot stress enough that it's not his fault! He is a centre mid by trait, not a winger so leave him alone. The situation reminds me of one not too long ago where Lucas Leiva was the target of abuse, but now he's arguably Liverpools best player with Suarez. I'm getting a bit off topic here but i felt that all needed mentioning.
Adam Johnson
A winger is needed, i know that the purpose of Downing was to fill up these problems on the wings but he's one person. Tottenham have two great wingers which helps them play their fooball so much. Downing is again a contreversial character who i think given his time will shine for Liverpool. But Adam Johnson is the player for us. I don't care what anyone says, he is an amazing player who is having to rot on the City bench. Just watch him in a game and you'll start to pray that we sign him because he is a top quality winger. Personally he would be prehaps my main target for no more then 17 million.
Carlos Tevez
The next target for me is a team mate of Adam Johnson. Stand up Carlos Tevez. Say what you want, but there is no denying that Carlos Tevez is an incredible striker who would work absolute wonders up front with Luis Suarez. I think this is a signing that has to be done no matter what, we cannot allow this opportunity to slip through our hands and in my opinion 25-30 million for him is a bargain considering the media are surrounding David Villa for 40 million, don't get me wrong, he's a great player, but at the age of 29 how long for? With Carlos you could argue that he causes rifts in the team but i personally think Man city betrayed him and if he came to us it would spur him on to bring them down. Let me just make this known, he fell out with Man City because of a lack of game time, do you really think he'll be sat on our bench? Definately the most important signing and the one i would make a neccassary.
Gary Cahill
Jamie Carragher needs a succesor, and with Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel showing that they can handle it is encouraging, but the two are vulnerable to injury. Gary Cahill would fit the bill perfectly, plus he'll be cheap with his contract expiring in summer. 8 million tops. Do not let Tottenham get him like they were so easily aloud to Scott Parker on the cheap or they really will be unstoppable. And did i mention that he's young and a capped international with undoubted ability. Suits NSV's transfer criteria. And if not him Christopher Samba, because he is just a beast and sends shivers down the spine of anyone, but at an age of 28 and being from Congo makes Gary Cahill a much more suitable target.
The theme of them three transfers is that they are all premier league proven talents which should mean they top the pile of the shortlisted players.
Lucas and Lucas
Before some of you get horribly confused, i'm refering to Lucas Ocampos of River plate and Lucas Rodrigues Moura da silva of São Paulo. I for one can say that i have watched the pair of these play football and i often look out for their results and cannot stress enough why these two would be perfect signings! Years ago we let Cristiano Ronaldo slip through our hands, not again! Never have i seen so much potential in a player since watching Joe Harts opening season for Shrewsbury town. Be under no illusion, these two boys are incredible football players already at a young age and they will get far better, one even being dubbed the next Cristiano Ronaldo. These are two boys that we will regret in a few years when their price tag sores way out of our reach. To cap these two off, we have connections with both of their countires and Liverpool appears to be exploring the South American talent these days which is evident by Suarez, Coates, Maxi, Lucas, Aurelio. So it's not like we don't have the contacts.
They would be my definate signings of January. Of course some of you reading this will have various ideas. I feel that there are other players that we could pursue such as
Robert Saldado
Fernando Llorente
Emmanual Adebayor
Marc Albrighton
Marco Reus
Marko marin
Mario Goetze
Eden Hazard
Michel Bastos
Again, i'm sure i have missed several players that people would argue should be on there, but these targets are what i believe.
YNWA!
Tanko, 2 years ago | FlagWe need more options in the attack side: F. Llorente or Andreas Schürrle or Darren Bent (if we can get him) are good solutions.
Michel Bastos (28 years) is also a very good solution: he can play left-back, left-winge r and as n° 8, support to strikers. Moreover, Bastos has a gun on his foot. imagine if we have an injury with Enrique!!! (we don't see Fabio aurelio for a long time!). In this way, Lucas Podolsky (Cologne) will also be a very good solution for us.
