King Kenny & Guardiola

two things ....there are sections of fans on the site...some looking for another manager and some still think that he should continue..

i am part of the ones who think he should be given myb a chance...

But just a thought that came to me ...if the Board puts Kenny to the position of Director of Football, then who would we want as our manager..

Pep Guardiola, is willling to quit Barca, i do not know how many would give us a chance to hire him...well he was only promoted from the Barca B team to manager for 1st team in 2008 and since then we all know what heights they have achieved ...

Its a tough call to decide for all the LFC faithfull as Kenny has been a great servant to the team during his playing days and then managerial...

Awaiting your comments ...

  • Valuable and valid comment, Grotton. Actually, that's one of the things a like about Rafa - his desire to control everything by himself. Of course as any approach/style it has it's own strenghtes and weeknesses. I (and it's my humble opinion) personally always favoured so-called "dictatorship" style of management, where manager controlls everything, but equally is responsible for everything. As for Pep - i'm not quite sure if he would fancy not-total control position.

Honestly, i just don't understand idea of having DOF or other chains of management.

I think manager should have full control. Also, i think J.Henry is not totally unflexible person, he can change his mind regarding chosen idea of current structure - it's one of many factors for being sucessful businessman (which he is), BEING flexible.

anyway, i liked your point, Grotton.

  • @ezanih....

Most top clubs do have one...its just hidden by a different name...and with slightly different responsibilities.

City, Spurs, Newcastle, Chelsea, Arsenal, Milan, Inter, Juve...I could go on...

Even Fergie doesnt negotiate his own transfers.

  • This director of football nonsense is giving me a headache. None of the top club has it. Fergie doesn't have it. Only Liverpool FC has it just because of our American owners.

Let the coach be the manager be the DOF.

Then he would be able to bring concrete results and win games !!!

  • I think Pep would fit into Liverpool and would be loved by LFC fans just as Suarez has fitted here.

But that's up to him if he wants to come.

Its the players who win games, not the manager.
