This is what I hope LFC becomes next season with Commoli and King Kenny doing their magic during the summer transfer window. Alot has been said about the players we want and need but this is from a realistic perspective based on economic capacity, willingness to sell and the club's general transfer policy.
In: Eden Hazard (20 million), Ashley Young (18 million), Brede Hangeland (8 million)
Jose Enrique (6 million), Charlie Adam (6 million), Brad Friedel (3 million)
Alberto Aquilani (return), Emiliano Insua (return)
Gross Total: 61 million
Out: Christian Poulsen (2 million), Sotiros Kyrgiakos (2 million) Milan Jovanovich (3 million),
Paul Konchesky (3 million), Joe Cole (5 million), David Ngog (6 million),
Gross Total: 21 million
Net spending value: 40 million
New LFC 2011/2012 BPL provisional 23 man squad:
Pepe Reina, Brad Freidel, Brad Jones, Glen Johnson, Martin Kelly, Jamie Carragher, Martin Skrtel, Brede Hangeland, Daniel Agger, Jose Enrique, Fabio Aurelio, John Flannagan, Jay Spearing, Alberto Aquilani, Lucas Leiva, Charlie Adam, Steven Gerrard, Raul Meireles, Eden Hazard, Ashley Young, Dirk Kuyt, Luis Suarez, Andy Carroll.
Starting XI:
Pepe Reina
Glen Johnson Jamie Carragher Brede Hangeland Jose Enrique
Eden Hazard Steven Gerrard Raul Meireles Ashley Young
Luis Suarez Andy Carroll
Subs: Brad Friedel, Martin Srktel, Martin Kelly, Daniel Agger, Alberto Aquilani, Charlie Adam, Lucas Leiva, Dirk Kuyt.
These are the most possible transfers for us right now
Now with the aquisition of Hazard and Young, Kuyt can be our third striker. Aquilani, Adam and Lucas are good squad players. Gerrard isn't as young as he used to be so he will need all the support he gets. Daniel Agger is plagued with injury while Martin Skrtel is not consistent in his performances despite playing every game as we had no other choice. Kelly, Spearing and Flannagan are the local lads and they are still growing. Should Hazard be deployed more centrally, Johnson could be moved up to Right Wing and Kelly at Right Back. Aurelio cannot be depended thus having Flannagan and Insua as back up to Enrique would be vital. Options is key for our challenge in the Top Four and I'm sure King Kenny wants to win something next year, my guess the FA Cup therefore rotation will be necessary. If we are to progress we must put aside emotions and think logically. No disrespect to any of them but Lucas and Spearing simply cannot win us tittles although they do have the odd game here and there. Look at Manchester City and Chelsea's bench. Tittles are won by teams who have a quality bench. With this team, I think we should be able to crack into the Top 4 once more and within the season after this finally win the English Premier League with one or two more additions.
P/S: Again, this is my research and my thoughts, your feedback will be most welcomed. Thank you for reading.

SenorV, 2 years ago | FlagTasmin: Friend, as I said it was mere suggestions. Based on what I have read FSG are going to break the bank for promising stars with potential and judging by what the spend on Andy Carroll, Hazard definitely fits the bill. He is only 20 years old and more than money he wants to go to an established club and be a regular in the staring XI. Any player would know that Liverpool cannot be out of the Champions League for a long time. With things as it stands at Aston Villa, Friedel wants to come back and I doubt he minds playing second fiddle to Reina. If not, again it's a suggestion. Better a proven goalkeeper than a young untested one. As for the Aquilani and Adam debate, they are two different styles of players and my key point was diversity and strength in depth. Look at Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City. They have 3-4 players in midfield that are world class on the bench. Us Liverpool supporters are not used to that and have forgotten just how big our club is. So what if the player is good and does not start, just having the knowledge he is there and posseses the ability to change a game is vital in our challenge for the top four and tittle itself. Hangeland has been a target for quite sometime and again we not only need diversity in attackers but defenders as well. Left, right footed, heading ability, tackling, pace. They vary and Hangeland being the fourth best CB in the Premier League says alot about the man. Ashley Young to ManUtd ? to replace who ? Nani or Valencia ? He fits straight into Liverpool and can cross and provide the pass. I hope this clarrified my suggestions. Have a good day mate !
tasmin, 2 years ago | Flagwe need to be realistic.some of your transfer targets are unrealistic.
1.will friedel be 2 nd choice goal-keeper when he has 1st team offer from west brom or others ?
2.if we bring back aquilani why do we need to buy adam ? where we have shelvey,gerrard,mirales,spearing,aquilani,lucas...
3.hazard will not come to liverpool.he will not miss CL.
4.young is man united bound.so why we need him?
now these are my specalution :
1.bring a young goal-keeper who can develop under kenny and reina.and he will not be harmful by expecting 1st team football.he will be our future reina and will cost less.
2.bring enrique.back up insua,aurelio.
3.scott dann from birmingham as CB.
4.we need 1 quick winger like mata or elia.they are my choices.
5.we need another winger who can made terrific crosses and will assist for carroll.my choice is stewart downing.
6.and finally a back up talented young CF like shane long of reading will cost few and will be better.
7.lets sell jovanovich, kyrgiakos,jo cole,n gog, poulsen.because they are useless as hell.
anfieldkopite12, 2 years ago | Flagmate i loved your transfer thoughts but the line about spearing and lucas made me feel like axeing you and probably u should not have mentioned them in your article coz i love every single player with equal respect from captain stevie g to reserve players.Ye
ah both of spearing and lucas in partnershi p may not work but lucas is excellent mate.he deserves to protect back four in this team do dirty works, win ball, start attack.
ollie84ynwa, 2 years ago | FlagBrede Hangeland is good but when Daniel Agger is fully fit he is our best centre back
we wont get 5m for Joe Cole or 2m for Kyrgiakos more like 3m and 500k
Ashley Young, Charlie Adam and Jose Enrique would be good signings but i also think Fabio Contraeo would be a much better signing for left back
I do hope Aquilani gets a chance to prove himself and i also like Insua
next season is gonna be great for Liverpool
