Liverpool's records

Liverpool's records

This season might be called the most unlucky season in Liverpool's history. One of our records is to have hit the woodwork over 26 times, three times against Aston Villa. Liverpool is also the team in the Premier League with most off-sides, before the Villa game, Liverpool had been off-side 105 times in all games in the Premier League, and Luis Suarez is the player who has been off-side the most times of any player in the Premier League.

The next record is that Liverpool has the worst goal-scoring percent of all teams in the Premier League, we only convert 7% of our goal-chances to goal, which means that we only score 7 times out of 100 goal-chances, that is simply not good enough.

But we also have some positive records such as being the only team in the Premier League to have won the Europa Cup or Champions League five times. But we no longer holds the record as the team who have won the title the most times, and that is a bitter pill to swallow, after this season Man Utd will have won the league 20 times, and Liverpool have only won it 18 times.

But we still hold the record of winning the league cup title the most times, 8 times all in all, and lets hope that we win the FA Cup as well this season , then the season might not be such a disaster, but first we have to beat Everton in the semi-final, and then we will probably meet Tottenham in the final, and it will be a tough one, but Liverpool can do it, now that we have Daniel Agger back, then our defense and offensive play should be stronger with Dagger back, and who knows he might even score, it has been a while since we saw one of his long-shots that we all know that he can do, with his rocket of a left foot.

If we win the FA Cup, then the season won't be such a disaster, and by winning the League Cup, then we have Europa League next season, and it would not be so bad to win that one, now that we don't play Champions League.

I hope that Liverpool will buy a new left back to compete with Enrique, and another striker, like Cavani, no matter how much he cost. An attack with Suarez and Cavani together will be lethal. And lets hope for an injury-free season for Daniel Agger, the last weeks display without Agger on the team shows how much Daniel Agger means to Liverpool FC.

Another record, that isn't counted for should be, that Liverpool has played the most games, where we deserved to win, but we didn't, so the goals have been aganist the run of play. Call it unlucky, but we really need a striker like Cavani, to score more goals for Liverpool FC.

Thank you for your time.

You'll never walk alone.

  • i think you are right when saying that we lost the record of most english leagues, since alas we haven't yet won the premier league, and it is really disappointing to know that man utd which seemed a bit lame to me, as where also last year, came out killing all the odds and are on the verge of making them 20 leagues to their name.

i think that the new arrivals,(not including saurez & henderson) were not up to liverpool standards and hope that the management will see this as a learning mistake and import refined and ready calibrated players. we do not have any more time to waste on players that should play with lower level clubs.

according to what we saw during this year's football, i think we should go for another left back (enrique's position), a right back (in lieu of Johnson), use more the new goalkeeper, and hope for another striker, the like of cavani, drogba, gomez,  benzema, etc...

    hope we're not alone

  • To my fellow kop - liverpoolmanager - yes we can still attract top players not even strikers alone to the club because my product - LIVERPOOLFC is a world super brand.

Lets just get a goal getter and a creative midfielder with Lucas arrival then we shall see.

  • The entire team is underperforming at the moment so it is not fair to judge individuals. Suarez was a 30 - 40 goal per season man before he came to us, so we know he can do it. The guaranteed places for substandard players who were unecessary in the first place has eaten away the moral of our team and has caused them to lose faith in the manager and themselves.

If you have a weak center all of a sudden your attack and defense are under extreme pressue and it all goes awry fast. We have seen this from the start of the season yet those that do not know keep pooh pooing the the need for RESULTS!!! Results are essential and indeed crucial for the rebuilding of the team and the club. We must only put in players who contribute to good results and keep the deadwood off the team.

Good results breed confidence. Man for man, if you leave Hendo and Adam off the team and play Maxi and Shelvey, we are better than Man Utd. That is a fact. Include the deadwood and we become a chaotic underperforming bunch with no coheisivness or togetherness. Indeed there is nothing to link and aid defense and attack. To show how vital a good center is look at France and Argentina with and without Zidane and Maradona.

There is no doubt in my mind that if we get our center sorted out we will start to get better results. With the improved results you will individual and team confidence restored leading to better results and greater belief. Then you will see the likes of Suarez, Carroll, Coates, Downing, Mxi and etc. really starting to shine and the goals flowing. We need to change our center and get results!!!
