We have not won the FA Cup 2012 yet.
Now I have seen enough blog posts, including my own, stating that Liverpool will win the FA Cup. But before the final, I think that everybody should take it easy, it will not be a walk in the park, and Chelsea will not be a walk over.
Chelsea is in the semi-final in the Champions League. That says something about Chelsea. They have to be a very good team to get so far in the Champions League. Take a look at who they are in the semi-final together with. Teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Münich. And those three teams are really strong teams, and all very big clubs.
Do not try to underestimate Chelsea, then it will surely go wrong. Respect Chelsea, but not their supporters, who could not keep silent during one minutes silence before the FA Cup semi-final against Spurs to honour the 96 innocent dead Liverpool supporters at the Hillsborough disaster. Shame on Chelsea's supporters, and we can only hope to beat Chelsea in the final, but it will be a massive challenge. Of course it was only a minority of Chelsea supporters who could not be silent for one minute. That does not automatically make every Chelsea supporters scum of the Earth. Every team has some outsiders who only come to the games to behave badly. You could call them "The last hooligans". But no matter how few they are, then nothing justifies their actions.
I know that we have already beaten Chelsea twice this season, but that was a long time ago. The Chelsea team has become a better team, since they got their new manager, and have won 10 of their last 13 fixtures, and that is something that takes a strong team to do. So Chelsea is definitely in a better shape than Liverpool, and it will be a minor miracle if Liverpool is going to win the FA Cup.
And remember that Liverpool's biggest defeat this season was against Spurs, and look how Chelsea almost humiliated Spurs in the other semi-final in the FA Cup, with a 5-1 victory, where Liverpool only won 2-1 over Everton. Chelsea is a better team than Liverpool at the moment, and if they lose the semi-final in Champions League to Barcelona, then the FA Cup is all that they have left to win.
Chelsea will do everything they can to win the FA Cup. And so will Liverpool. But we have not won it yet. And a team that makes it all the way to the semi-final in the Champions League is a very good team, and lets not forget that both Torres and Meireles are scoring goals for Chelsea, and they will do everything to be able to score against Liverpool.
So every Liverpool supporter calm down, and wait with the celebrating of winning the FA Cup, until we have actually won it. You can not only compare Liverpool's form with Chelsea, you can also look at the table in the Premier League, and Chelsea is still in the battle for the fourth spot, while Liverpool has lost much more games lately than we have won.
Lets see how it goes with Liverpool in the Premier League before we claim that Liverpool will win the FA Cup. I am not sure that Liverpool will win the FA Cup. I am sure that every Liverpool player on the pitch of Wembley, will do their best to win, but sometimes that is not enough. Just think about the teams that Chelsea has beaten this season, to make it to the semi-final in the Champions League. Many of them were better teams than Liverpool.
I would dare say that we need a miracle to win the FA Cup, because Chelsea is a better team than Liverpool are at the moment, and they are going to show it May the 5th 2012. And Liverpool has not won the FA Cup yet. And there is a good chance that we will not win it. So now you are prepared for what might happen.
If Chelsea can beat Barcelona, then they can also beat Liverpool. I just watched the first leg of then Championsn League semi-final between Chelsea and Barcelona, and it was not quite the result that I had expected. So it doesn't look to good for Liverpool. Barcelona is after all a much better team than Liverpool is. And yesterday Chelsea won the first leg in the Champions League against the mighty Barcelona. Chelsea's tactic was to put 10 men behind the ball, and score on counter-attacks, and the tactic worked, and they won 1-0. But in the second leg on Camp Nou, it will be another story. At least I hope so.
But of course I still have blind faith in Liverpool, as I have been a die hard supporter for the past 34 years, and I will always support Liverpool, till the day I die. I believe in miracles, and I do believe that Liverpool can win the FA Cup, and "save the season" by winning both of the domestic cups. But there is a mountain to climb, before we bring the throphy back to Anfield.

batfink43, 1 year ago | FlagI´d just like to remind you that no liverpool team has ever lost to barca. We´ve never lost at the Nou camp- lets see those plastic flag waving nobjockeys
try that! I believe that when it comes to the final, all bets are off. It´s just about who´s more hungry for it on the day.
Personally
, I hope kenny rests most of our first team, and uses the youth team for most of the rest of the season, so when it comes to May the 6th, all the 1st 11 will have been so starved of footy, that they´ll eat chelsea alive.
Former Fan, 1 year ago | Flag@ PSAMY: I have only written this blog post to make my fellow Liverpool supporters aware of that the FA Cup final will be a tough match, and not to celebrate it before Liverpool have actually won it.
Of course we all have the same hopes and dreams for Liverpool success in the future, and I personally stand behind Liverpool, and hope as much as every other Liverpool supporter that we will win the FA Cup. If we win both of the domestic cups, then I would say that the first season with our new owners, and King Kenny's first season at the helm will be approved, even though we didn't qualify for Champions League next season.
I feel that with both the new owners and with King Kenny at the helm, then I feel that during the next few years Liverpool will be winning the Premier League or at least qualify for Champions League, and get the Glory Days back to Anfield.
We have beaten Chelsea twice this season, and both times was at Stamford Bridge, and I think that Liverpool stands a good chance of winning the FA Cup, because we have won all our cup-matches in both competitions, so why should we not win this last one, just because it is the final in the FA Cup competition?
I know my logic about our loss to Spurs and the fact that Chelsea beat them 5-1, didn't make a lot of sense. But I still think the FA Cup final will be a hard match to win. But I believe that Liverpool can do it. I am always optimistic.
You'll never walk alone.
PSAMY, 1 year ago | FlagDear Mate, rival teams' strength in a final is not measured by their goal difference against our other rivals we scored less. It is very amatueristic to analyse rival's strength by their score line against another team we struggled to penetrate the diffence line.
The match temperament, composure and the guts in every player on a given match day determines the end result. If they can beat Barca so be it. We could have done even better should we have also played in the tournament.
We are a squad in the making and of course we are not doing well in the league or win the Carling cup with a creditable display. But remember, a cup final is a cup final. Both teams are equally desperate to out do the other. The perspectives are different altogether. Its a final even the minnows of teams will raise their game.
Your note of cautions nevertheless are respected but need not be necessarily cause panic.
Cheers! YNWA
